J’nai Coach is fourteen years old, currently living in South Carolina. When she was nine years old, she was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, which happens to be an auto immune disease. Because of this, she cannot do as much physical activity like everyone else, so during her free time she finds pleasure in reading books which inspired her to write one of her own.

Jani Topia’s family had always been considered peculiar, and just like her family, Jani is just as strange. After her parents pass away, she moves in with one of her most trusted friends. One night during a storm she is given a letter and encounters a forest and manages to find herself in an unusual place. Jani then gets noted that she is being followed by mysterious creatures called shadows, who intend to kill her. She encounters new people and discovers secrets along the way.
